Working with the senses in a playful way can make a big difference to behaviour.  It is easy to forget how important our senses are to us, we are capable of "dialling down" things that irritate.  Many people with special needs really struggle to block-out such irritations, but might be able to overcome them with distraction.  Over or under sensitive senses can be a real misery, normalising the senses is a game-changer.
